Children's Transplant, a part of Children's of Mississippi, is striving to meet the health care needs of young patients in Mississippi and throughout the Southeast. We offer comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for toddlers and children in a kid-friendly and family-focused environment.
Children's Kidney
Children's Transplant provides all options of renal replacement therapy (dialysis). With the help of the state's only pediatric transplant nephrologist, dialysis can be provided as early as birth, and our services include Mississippi's only pediatric dialysis center. Our center offers kidney transplants to toddlers, children, and adolescents, including both deceased donor and living donor options.

Children's Heart
Our patients also are given a new chance for life, thanks to Children's Heart and its congenital heart program. Heart transplants are just one of the surgical options for children born with heart problems.
- We help children with congenital heart conditions transition into adulthood by working closely with the University Heart adult congenital heart program.
Stem cell and bone marrow transplants
The state's only stem cell and bone marrow transplant unit is a part of UMMC, the state's only academic medical center, and provides individualized care for both adults and children.
Patient-centered care
Our young patients are evaluated by a multidisciplinary team including pediatric nephrologists, pediatric renal coordinators, pediatric gastroenterologists specializing in hepatology, pediatric transplant coordinators, and other medical pediatric specialists as necessary.
Statistical data
Our transplant surgeons and physicians are highly skilled in their pursuit of innovations to improve transplant outcomes for children. Information on all transplant centers can be found on the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) website.
